At Clevedon Hypnosis, I’m not going to get you do go on the latest fad diet, starve yourself, go to the gym twice a day or only drink horrible tasting shakes.

Everyone knows that the reason you put on weight is because you eat too much food and don’t do enough exercise. But in reality, the reasons for overeating are not that straight forward.
Emotional eating due to stress, depression, anxiety which caused low self-esteem and knocks your confidence. The problem is we associate eating with these emotions which makes it harder to stop eating. This comfort eating may make us feel better in the short term – perhaps only when we are actually eating, but after that any good feelings are often replaced by guilt and self-loathing.

Does it work and will it work for me?
Losing weight is hard. If it wasn’t then there wouldn’t be so many diets around and few people would actually be overweight. Hypnotherapy has helped many people successfully lose weight and, more importantly, keep that weight off.
The key to success is YOU! No weight loss system will work unless you are committed to losing weight. You must be prepared to change your eating habits and life-style. If you are totally serious about losing weight, then it will certainly work for you. How does it work
Too often people go on diets which do not work in the long run. This is because they rely on will power alone which is difficult to maintain as it works on the conscious mind. But our habits, such as eating, are driven by the subconscious mind. Hypnosis puts positive thoughts into your subconscious bypassing your rational mind – that way it counteracts the negative thoughts that usually accompany eating.
By talking to you, I will find out what triggers your overeating and what works best to lose the weight and maintain a healthy weight once the fat is gone. This means that your sessions will be tailored to your specific needs as we are all different. Treatment will involve a combination of hypnosis, NLP and teaching self-hypnosis.
What is right for me?
I offer three types of weight loss treatments.
5 sessions – for those who want to lose 2 stone or less.
My Weight Loss Management Programme is delivered over 5 sessions. The first 4 over 6 to 8 weeks and the final session around a month later. This includes a workbook and recordings for you to use at home.
8 sessions – provides long term weight loss support for those who have tried to lose weight before.
A comprehensive support system which is delivered over the course of four months. Frequency will vary depending on the client’s needs but is usually 5 weekly sessions followed by 3 sessions of around one month later and then following 2 months. In between you will receive motivational text messages and recordings for you to use at home.
Hypno-Band –Virtual gastric band treatment for those with more than 3 stone to lose. I am a licenced Hypno-band practitioner. The Hypno-Band has had much media coverage and has helped many people successfully lose weight and keep it off.
Virtual gastric band treatment is held over 4 or 5 sessions. The first sessions are at weekly intervals and then the last session is around 4-6 weeks later.
I also hold Hypnotherapy Weight Loss Groups for people who prefer working in groups or cannot afford one-to-one fees.
What hypnotherapy is not?
Hypnotherapy is not a magic bullet. Whatever method of losing weight you choose, if you want to keep the weight off you must be fully committed to changing your lifestyle. This includes cutting certain foods out of your diet while you lose weight and then if you really feel the need to have them, limiting them.
- Processed foods
- Saturated fats
- Refined sugar
You will also have to start to take some exercise, if you do not already do so. It doesn’t have to take over your life. Moderate exercise 3 times a week is all you need to keep you healthy. Obviously, more is better but it is up to you.
