Welcome to Clevedon Hypnosis

With more than a decade of dedicated practice, I’ve supported many people through their most difficult moments. From devastating grief and bereavement to the invisible weight of chronic anxiety, low self-esteem, and the relentless struggle to break free from smoking and vaping—I understand what you’re going through.

I’m Judith Stafford, a Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist and NLP Practitioner in Clevedon and serving Bristol and North Somerset. Whether you’re seeking relief from deep grief, managing severe stress, rebuilding your confidence, or finally ready to stop smoking or vaping, I’m here to support you with compassion, confidentiality and clinical expertise.

I understand that seeking help takes courage. You don’t have to face this challenge all alone.

My Journey into Hypnotherapy

My introduction to hypnotherapy began with a personal breakthrough: I used hypnosis to successfully stop smoking. This transformation didn’t just improve my health; it opened my eyes to the incredible power of the subconscious mind. After seeing friends and colleagues find similar relief from chronic stress, I was inspired to leave a 15-year career in IT and engineering to retrain as a Clinical Hypnotherapist. While I valued the precision of my technical background, I felt a deep pull toward a more personal mission: helping people navigate their own internal complexities to create lasting change.

Today, through Clevedon Hypnosis, I provide a sanctuary for those navigating life’s most difficult transitions. I specialise in hypnosis for stress and anxiety, helping you “rewire” the subconscious patterns that lead to overwhelm and panic. This often goes hand-in-hand with my work in treating insomnia, where we work together to quiet the “busy brain” and reclaim the restorative sleep you deserve.

Finding Peace Through Loss and Life’s Major Transitions

For those carrying the heavy weight of grief and loss, I offer specialised grief and bereavement hypnotherapy. This is a safe, gentle space to process the pain of loss and find a way forward that honours your past while allowing you to breathe again. Additionally, I am deeply committed to supporting women through menopause symptoms. Through my work with The Ancient Wisdom of Women, I help you manage the physical and emotional shifts of this stage, viewing it as a powerful new beginning. I would be honoured to support you.

I believe in the importance of lifelong learning to better serve my clients. Over the years, I have completed advanced training in insomnia, menopause relief, and palliative care. My dedication to supporting people through all of life’s transitions led me to qualify as a Death Doula and become a member of End of Life Doula UK. Additionally, I have finally been able to pursue my lifelong interest in herbal medicine, obtaining a foundation qualification from the Heartwood Foundation to deepen my understanding of holistic health

Testimonials

For years, my fear of water kept me from enjoying beaches and pools. I decided to take swimming lessons along with a friend, but this just triggered panic attacks. Desperate for a solution, I tried hypnotherapy.

Judith helped me overcome this fear, and I was able to commit to learning to swim and now, I can confidently wade into the ocean and even enjoy swimming laps in my local pool. Thank you, Judith, for opening up a whole new experience to me that I thought I had left too late to enjoy.

Thank you for freeing me from my addiction to tobacco. It’s now 5 months since the hypnotherapy session when I first became a non-smoker. I have not experienced cravings even in the first few weeks.

You made the quit smoking hypnotherapy sessions a soothing and positive experience for me. To anyone who may be sceptical about the effectiveness of hypnotherapy, I would say that I wanted strongly to stop smoking but had not managed to do so until you treated me
